Library of Things
With the Library of Things of the University of Primorska University Library we try to provide all users with equal opportunities for quality study work.
The Library of Things of the UP UK currently consists of laptops that users can borrow for work at home.
- The service is intended primarily for full-time UP students, as a support for study, research and artistic work.
- Laptops can also be borrowed by other library users if they are not in use by full-time students at a given time.
- Laptops are numbered, inventoried and equipped with security systems.
- Borrowing is free and limited to a maximum of 8 days; two extensions are possible, but a total of a maximum of 16 days of extension (a total of a maximum of 24 days).
- Reservations are made via the COBISS Plus system, a maximum of 12 hours before collection.
- Borrowing and return are only possible at the UP UK library desk during office hours (Mon.–Fri., 8:00–15:45).
Upon borrowing, the user receives the device and power adapter, the laptop is activated and a statement of material and criminal liability for any damage, loss or theft is signed. The user undertakes to return the laptop switched off, clean, without browsing history, with a charged battery and undamaged. The laptop may only be used in the library for study, research, artistic or educational purposes and in accordance with the law. It is prohibited to consume food and drinks near the device, remove labels and engage in any illegal or disruptive activities. Any malfunction or irregularity must be reported immediately to a library staff. Delay in returning items is considered a disciplinary violation.
When borrowing and using items from the library, the user is obliged to comply with the Rules on Borrowing and Use of ICT
