Creative Commons Licenses

Creative Commons represents a system of free, standardized copyright licenses for open publishing, which enable authors and publishers to define the permission to use published scientific research data.

1. CC0 – Public Domain: the author gives up all rights, including the right to compensation, and leaves the scientific research results completely in the public domain. In Slovenia, this license is currently not allowed under the Copyright and Related Rights Act (ZASP).

2. CC BY – Attribution: users can copy, distribute and modify the work under the same conditions and with reference to the original authorship (also for commercial purposes).

3. CC BY-SA – Attribution/ShareAlike: users are allowed to copy, distribute and modify under the same conditions, with reference to the original authorship.

4. CC BY-NC – Attribution/NonComercial: users are allowed to copy, distribute and modify for non-commercial purposes and with reference to the original authorship.

5. CC BY-ND – Attribution/NoDerivatives: users are permitted to copy and distribute only the original copy with original attribution.

6. CC BY-NC-SA – Attribution/NonComercial/ShareAlike: users are allowed to copy, distribute and modify the work for non-commercial purposes, under the same conditions and with reference to the original authorship.

7. CC BY-NC-ND – Attribution/NonComercial/NoDerivatives: users are allowed to copy and distribute only the original copy for non-commercial purposes with attribution to the original authorship.
