UNIVERSITY OF PRIMORSKA AND KOPER HAVE A NEW FILM FESTIVAL

The first international student festival of short ethnographic films of the UP FHŠ, which took place on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, impressed with its international participation, as well as its diverse themes. The focus of the fifteen student films screened was on stories of everyday life, professions and crafts, and architecture – in short, on stories written by life. All authors participated in the film festival for the first time. Their ethnographic debuts were presented, and judging by what we saw, we can count on the fact that the festival was by no means the last.

It was organised by the Faculty of Humanities and the University of Primorska University Library. It was the latter’s premises, where a cinema used to operate, that gave the event a special charm. We did not award any prizes at the festival, but we can say that the award for both the authors and visitors was the festival itself.
