2ND TRAINING FOR DATA EXPERTS

The SPOZNAJ project consortium will be in the framework of work set 4: Preparation and implementation of specialist training for operating according to the principles of open science, working subset 4.3: Implementation of data administrator training will re-conduct training this fall and in January 2026 for individuals who will serve as data stewards or related data professional profiles (e.g. data archivists, data librarians, data managers, and data consultants) in their parent organisations. This will other such training for data experts in scientific research activities in Slovenia, which we prepared based on the example of similar trainings abroad (e.g. Data Steward Postgraduate Course of the University of Vienna, 4TU Essentials 4 Data Support, EOSC Synergy Data Steward Training etc.). The training will be carried out by staff employed by the consortium partners and selected experts from institutions outside the consortium.

The training will be divided into theoretical part (first and second set) and practical part (workshops). Workshops are planned separately for natural sciences and technology and humanities and social sciences, and it will be possible to participate in both sets of workshops. The training will last a total of 16 days, each with 6 school hours, on the following dates:

• 13. 10.–17. 10. 2025 (first joint theoretical section + optional day dedicated to natural sciences and technology)
• 3. 11.–7. 11. 2025 (second common theoretical section + optional day dedicated to social sciences and humanities)
• 14. 1.–16. 1. 2026 (first part of the workshops, dedicated to social sciences and humanities)
• 21. 1.–23. 1. 2026 (second part of the workshops, dedicated to science and technology)

Due to space limitations, live participation will only be possible for employees of consortium partners, while all other interested parties will be able to participate remotely, where there is no limit to the number. It will also be possible to follow individual lectures remotely.

To obtain a certificate of participation (live or online), attendance at both common theoretical sessions, one of the optional days, and one of the workshop sessions in the scope of at least 80 % (at least 58 of the mandatory 72 school hours). It is of course possible to participate in the entire training, which consists of a total of 96 hours. The program is not accredited.
