LECTURE: CO-CREATING OPEN EDUCATION AT UP
On Thursday, 13 March 2025, at 9.00 you are invited to the online lecture Co-Creating Open Education at UP. Lecturers will be Assist. Prof. PhD. Andreja Klančar (UP PEF) and Mag. Šarolta Godnič Vičič (UP FTŠ Turistica). The event will be streamed online via Zoom (https://upr-si.zoom.us/s/97386152771, Meeting ID: 973 8615 2771). The lecture will be held in Slovenian.
Open education has been developing at the University of Primorska for many years – from the first open source learning environments and open educational resources, to the implementation of various activities and the conference Latovke UP during the Open Learning Week, and projects that promote the accessibility of knowledge. Odprta UP community and website Odprta UP were created as part of these efforts and still connect employees today in the development of digital competencies and the exchange of good education and research practices.
We invite you to join us for a presentation and discussion on how ‘openness’ can contribute to greater accessibility and innovation in education and research.
Assist. Prof. PhD. Andreja Klančar is a lecturer in the field of computer and information education at the Faculty of Education at the University of Primorska. She also participates in numerous national and international projects. Her research focuses on educational technologies, digitalization of education, development of digital competencies, research in the field of teaching computer science in preschool and the first years of elementary school, and the use of artificial intelligence in education. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Odprta UP community and she actively participates as a member of the program and organising committee of the conference Lastovka UP. She also leads the Digital PAI activity of the GDI UP project, within which the Odprta UP portal is used for the purpose of conducting training.
Mag. Šarolta Godnič Vičič is a senior lecturer in English for professional use at the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica at the University of Primorska. Among her research interests are tourism discourse, foreign language teaching and learning, digital learning technologies used in pedagogy, and artificial intelligence in education. She participated in projects InoTeZ and INOVUP. She is an active supporter of the open science movement as well as open education and open pedagogy. She has been a member of the Odprta UP community since 2021 and actively participates in the maintenance of the Odprta UP platform and as a member of the program and organising committee of the conference Lastovka UP.
