DIGITAL : UP – single entry point to access e-resources

UP students and staff can access the subscribed databases from the university premises and with remote access.

REMOTE ACCESS THROUGH ARNES AAI/SHIBBOLETH AUTHENTICATION:

Remote access through Arnes AAI/Shibboleth authentication is possible for UP students and staff. After you click on a selected source, you enter username and password. Students use their student identity (same as for e-classroom, SIS). University staff use the username and password they use for other university services, such as UNIS.

IEEE Xplore (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is a portal that provides access to quality literature in the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, electronics and related disciplines. IEEE Xplore contains approximately 400 IEEE journals, 40,000 conference and other proceedings, and 5,000 standards.
IEEE Xplore also includes content from other publishers, including the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), MIT Press, IBM, Nokia Bell Labs, VDE Verlag, Tsinghua University Press, American Geophysical Union (AGU), Oxford University Press (OUP), Beijing Institute of Aerospace Information (BIAI), River Publishers, Artech House, Princeton University Press, Packt Publishing, and IEICE. Archive designed to search and read full-text articles in scientific journals in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, economy and entrepreneurship, philosophy, music, education, linguistics and literature, mathematics, natural sciences, politology, law, sociology, art and art history, history, and more.
The emphasis is on older volumes of journals which are often available from the beginning. For more recent volumes there is a 2–3 year embargo on access on average.
At the University of Primorska, we have access to 27 JSTOR Archival Journals and Primary Sources Collection.

Database of reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information for mathematical sciences literature.

Nature
At UP we have access to 36 Nature Research Journals titles (list of titles).
Full texts are available in various ways, mostly for the current and past 4 years, and for some journals from the beginning of publication onwards. The journals cover the fields of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, biochemistry, biotechnology, materials, physics, ecology and other areas of natural science.
The portal allows searching by content of all journals on the portal, it includes access to full texts of journals in gold open access: Nature Communications, Scientific Data, Scientific Reports and numerous titles “e.g. Series Journals”.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global‎
ProQuest Dissertations and Theses (PQDT) database is the world’s most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses. PQDT includes around 3 million searchable citations to dissertations and theses from around the world from 1861 to the present day together with over 1 million full-text dissertations that are available for download in PDF format.

PsycArticles (APA)*
PsycArticles is a database for searching and reading journal articles in the field of psychology. Materials covered include articles, peer reviews, and other publications published by the American Psychological Association, the Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association and the Hogrefe Publishing Group.

The SpringerLink service provides access to around 2.200 scientific and professional journals and to over 30.000 books by the various publishing houses.

Wiley Online library is a collection of literature in the fields of natural sciences, chemistry, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, economics and more. Full-text is mainly available from 1996 till now.
