BACK TO CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH WITH THE BOOK CLUB UP
The first meeting of the university Book Club in this academic year will take us back to childhood and youth. The first topic we will discuss on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 9 a.m. in Santori’s meeting room at the UP Rectorate, will be the re-reading of children’s and youth books.
Some books that we read in our childhood or youth leave a great impression on us. Some of them we liked very much, the other scared us, make us happy or very sad. We read them voluntarily or as required reading in school. We loved some of them and read them over and over again. We read the others with difficulty. Some of them were picture books and the others books from world classics for more demanding readers.
For the first meeting, this time in the festive December, our task was to re-read a book from childhood or youth. We are interested in how we re-experience the books when we read them today. Are the feelings still beautiful, scary, fun, exhilarating, excruciating? We will discuss this over morning coffee and cookies.

Be with us all year round
You are also invited to all future meetings of the Book Club. Next year we will talk about books we didn’t like, easy “beach” reading and books recommended by others.
Share with us good books and your reading feelings. We wish you a lot of them in the coming year 2023!
