PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION ABOUT THE BOOK POLITIKE ČLOVEKOVIH PRAVIC
On Tuesday, 11 June 2024, at 18.00, we kindly invite you to the premises of the UP University Library, Trubarjeva 1, Koper, to the presentation of the scientific monograph by prof. Simona Kustec, PhD. and the late Drago Zajc, PhD. with the title:
Politike človekovih pravic
The guests of the evening will be the author, prof. Simona Kustec, PhD., prof. Ernest Petrič, PhD., and prof. Vasko Simoniti, PhD. The conversation will be led by assoc. prof. PhDr. Jonatan Vinkler, PhD.
The main purpose of the book is to talk about human rights policies, about the historical and ideological reasons for their emergence, about the key critical points that have driven their more than two thousand year development, about state institutions and their measures regarding human rights, about the attitude towards democracy, values, ideologies, the relationship between politics and human rights law, and finally about the role of the latter in the coming era of artificial intelligence. The book is not looking for ‘black and white’ answers and not for ‘winners’ and ‘losers’ in the challenging relationship between politics and human rights, but wants to bring the content closer to the reader, and leave the final opinions and judgments to the abilities of understanding and the moral compass of each of us. The presentation will be held in Slovenian.
After the presentation, the author will sign the book and we invite you to join the informal conversation and socialising.
Participation in the event is free. The event will also be broadcast online (Zoom: https://upr-si.zoom.us/j/82866757661, Meeting ID: 828 6675 7661).
You are cordially invited!
The event is part of the activity A6.2.1/4.4 (Promotion of Slovenian science in the context of Open Science principles).
