2nd national event of the project “SPOZNAJ – Supporting the implementation of Open Science principles in Slovenia”

2ND NATIONAL EVENT OF THE PROJECT “SPOZNAJ – SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OPEN SCIENCE PRINCIPLES IN SLOVENIA”

On Thursday, 10 October 2024, from 10:00 to 16:00 you are cordially invited to the 2nd national event of the project SPOZNAJ (Supporting the implementation of Open Science principles in Slovenia) that will take place at the Centre for Humanities of the ZRS Koper (Kreljeva street 6, Koper, Slovenia). The event will also be livestreamed via Zoom with simultaneous interpretation from Slovenian into English.

As part of the SPOZNAJ project, which is co-financed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the European Union – NextGenerationEU through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Central Technical Library at the University of Ljubljana and 20 Slovenian public research institutions are working on adapting their work processes in line with the Resolution on the Scientific Research and Innovation Strategy of Slovenia 2030, the Scientific Research and Innovation Activities Act, the Public Information Access Act, the Regulation on the Implementation of Scientific Research in Alignment with the Principles of Open Science, and the practices and principles of open science in the European Research Area. After more than a year since the launch of the SPOZNAJ project, several results are already visible: a series of online trainings on open science practices and sharing research results according to the FAIR principles have been conducted by project members in collaboration with external experts, the electronic edition of the first handbook on open science in Slovenia “Spoznaj FAIR: priročnik o odprti znanosti v Sloveniji“ was published and the first comprehensive training for data stewards in Slovenia was launched at the premises of the Central Technical Library at the University of Ljubljana. In addition, all research institutions in the project consortium are working intensively to adapt their work processes to the principles of open science.

At the 2nd national event of the project SPOZNAJ we will focus some of our attention on issues such as the implementation and monitoring of Open Science in research organisations, but we will also be interested in the potential impact of opening up data in the public sector and in business. We will also try to shed light on at least some of the legal issues related to open content and open access to data. We expect that guests from abroad and from Slovenia will be able to present some successful practises and solutions to the participants of the event.

To facilitate the organisation, all participants are kindly requested to register their attendance, namely:

We look forward to your participation.
