Open Science Day 2024

OPEN SCIENCE DAY 2024

You are cordially invited to attend the Open Science Day and the national tripartite event of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), which will take place on Tuesday, 3 December 2024, and Wednesday, 4 December 2024, at the Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons Hotel (Pot za Brdom 4, Ljubljana). On Thursday, 5 December 2024, a workshop Infrastructure for Open Science – Status, Challenges, and Opportunities will be organised.

The first day, dedicated to international topics, will be held in English from 9:00 to 17:40 and will feature distinguished speakers, including representatives from the European Commission, the EOSC Association, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, as well as leading experts in open science, copyright and intellectual property rights, and research infrastructure for FAIR research data.

The second day, dedicated to national challenges in open science, will be held in Slovenian from 9:00 to 16:00. It will address the implementation of open science principles in public research organizations and the establishment of a Slovenian initiative for participation in the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA).

On the third day, the Slovenian RDA invites you to the workshop workshop Infrastructure for Open Science – Status, Challenges, and Opportunities, where the status, challenges and opportunities in this area will be discussed, in accordance with the Action Plan for Open Science in Slovenia.

Event is free and will be organised as part of the annual Arnes conference ‘Mreža znanja 2024’ (Web of Knowledge 2024). Participants will have the opportunity to participate in discussions on the future directions of EOSC, learn about advanced open access models, and participate in a nationwide hackathon that will combine open science and supercomputing.
