PORTAL ODPRTO ZALOŽNIŠTVO HAS BEEN LAUNCHED
University of Primorska University Library has launched a new portal Odprto založništvo, where information on scientific journals of Slovenian publishers in diamond access can be found.
The portal is built step by step, each new version will bring additional content and/or functionality. Thus, it is expected that in 2025, information about Slovenian publishing houses that publish in diamond access will be available on the portal, followed by information about the book collections of Slovenian publishers in diamond access. Part of the portal is expected to offer the opportunity for smaller non-commercial publishers that are publishing in diamond access to use the Open Journal System and Open Monograph Press platforms through this portal by 2026. The portal is in a pilot version and is being continuously updated and potential shortcomings are being addressed.
Portal odprtozaloznistvo.si, version 1.0, is built as a realisation of the Objective 6.2.6/1.1.1 according to the Action Plan for Open Science for implementation of the Objective 6.2: Open Science to improve the research quality, efficiency, and responsiveness of Research within the framework of the Resolution on the Slovenian Scientific Research and Innovation Strategy 2030. The measure, which is being implemented in 2023–2030, is funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

In establishing the portal the University of Primorska University Library and University of Primorska Press are collaborating with other institutions in the field of open science in the Republic of Slovenia, in particular with Založba ZRC, University of Ljubljana Press, University of Maribor Press and with other public research organisations.
