DATA EXPERT SUPPORT GROUP
Data Expert Support Group brings together people who are responsible for handling research data at their home institutions. They may be employed as data archivists, data librarians, data managers, data consultants and related profiles. The group was created within the framework of Work Package 4: Preparation and implementation of specialist training for operating according to the principles of open science, work sub-set 4.4: Establishing a group of support experts/coordinators to support staff at the level of final recipients and beyond in training and implementing operations according to the principles of open science. The support group is coordinated by the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana (CTK).
Purpose of the support group is mutual assistance in resolving dilemmas in relation to the conduct of open science and specifically research data. This assistance may include peer support in the form of advice and consultations, the organisation of training, the development of a list of frequently asked questions and answers, and the development of a list of useful information resources.
Goal of the support group is establishment of the informal all-Slovenian network of data experts, which will share useful information and best practices in open science and research data management. It will take into account existing infrastructures and initiatives in the field of open science and connect them into a single entry point.
Participation in a support group is free of charge and is also open to data experts outside the project consortium. If you would like to join us, please send us a message at noo.spoznaj@ctk.uni-lj.si.
The support group meets once a month, namely: every first Friday of the month at 11.00 on the ZOOM link provided by CTK. If this date falls on a holiday, the meeting will be rescheduled to a later date by arrangement.
A channel is used for communication between group members outside of meetings. #support-group on the project workspace on the Slack platform (https://noo-spoznaj.slack.com. The operation of the Slack platform will be ensured even after the SPOZNAJ project will ended.
