HANDBOOK ON PLANNING RESEARCH DATA MANAGEMENT

An online Handbook on Planning Research Data Management has been published. The work is intended for all those who encounter research data management in their research work. The manual is expected to grow along with the development of the field and the needs of users, so it will be regularly updated and supplemented.

Research data management is becoming an important part of research practices. Therefore, the manual represents a tool that guides the user through the key planning steps, while taking into account the specificities of different disciplines, research environments and sources. It is structured in the form of a research data life cycle, and a few related chapters have been added, such as an overview of basic concepts and legislation and the principles of FAIR, CARE and TRUST.

The manual combines theoretical foundations, practical guidance and concrete questions that researchers encounter in their daily work with (meta)data, software code and documentation.

The work also aims to help users with a specially designed chapter, Complete your NRRP, which guides you through completing the Research Data Management Plan.
