WEBINAR: AMNESIA – A USER-FRIENDLY TOOL FOR DATA ANONYMIZATION

On Thursday, 5 March 2026, from 10.30 to 12.00 you are invited to the webinar Amnesia: A user-friendly tool for data anonymization that will be organised within the project SPOZNAJ (Support for the Implementation of Open Science Principles in Slovenia). The presentation will be held in English.

The lecture will be given by Dr. Manolis Terrovitis, postdoctoral researcher at the Information Management Systems Institute (IMSI) of the Research and Innovation Centre in Information, Communication and Knowledge Technologies “Athena”, Greece.

The presentation will provide an overview of fundamental anonymization concepts and techniques aimed at a non-expert audience. It will explain the distinction between pseudonymized and anonymized data and demonstrate how privacy can be breached in the case of pseudonymized data. Furthermore, it will discuss how different anonymization guarantees can help address GDPR requirements and how the Amnesia tool can be used to anonymize data. The presentation will conclude with a live demonstration of Amnesia.
